Beside the Yazd itself, there are some worth attractions around the Yazd to visit.among the Yazd day tours, Kharanaq, Chack Chack and Meybod tour is the most popular Yazd day tour.
Kharanaq is a village located 77 km far from Yazd. the elevation of this area is 400 meters more than the city of the Yazd and its about 1750 metres above the sea level. this difference makes more precipitation for Kharanaq and the water is the main reason to attract the human to these regions even from 4500 years ago. the village has a new and old part. about 534 people still leaving in the new part of the village.most of the parts we can see are date back to the Sassanid empire. It’s notable that people were leaving there even till 40 years ago. the village historical texture, A Safavid caravanserai, water reservoir, shaking mineral, the old bridge and agricultural lands are some of the attractions in Kharanaq village.
The next is Chak Chack. Chak chack is a temple in the face of the mountain. the temple is one of the holiest places for Zoroastrian people. the name Chak chack is derived from the sound of dripping water in the cave which contains the shrine. In the cliffs below the shrine are several roofed pavilions constructed to accommodate pilgrims. every year, on 3 June, a lot of Zoroastrians from all over the world coming here for 4 days to pray.
the Meybod desert city is the last attraction is this Yazd day tour. this city resembles the Yazd in many aspects, but it’s much older than Yazd. Narin Castle is one of the major attractions of the city. This mud-brick citadel (247 BC–224 CE) has been built in five stories on a hill overlooking Meybod. Meybod’s Shah Abbasi Caravanserai, Yakhchal(Icehouse), Chapar Khaneh(Persian term for the postal service used during the Achaemenid era) and pigeon house( a place for collecting pigeon faeces) are the attractions of Meybod city.
