The city of Yazd constructed in the middle of the Iran plateau and close to the silk roads at the time of the Sassanid empire(224-651 AD).the city is located in Iran central deserts with limited recourses. but the people could survive in the desert by inventing Qanat system to draw underground water. the different district of the city has its own qanat. the main material in the Yazd city is clay that used everywhere include alleys, walls, roofs, vaults, domes and its create a pleasant microclimate.

The Yazd is famous to be the city of wind towers, Zoroastrians, Termeh (traditional brocade), silk weaving and sweets (like Baqlava and Qutab). on July 2017, UNESCO has added the historical structure of Yazd to its list of world heritage sites.

 there are various religions in the city including Islam, Judaism and Zoroastrianism, which are still living peacefully together. the biggest population of Iran’s Zoroastrians are living in Yazd, so still, there are some fire temples working in the Yazd city.

this Yazd city tour will start by visiting the towers of silence which are the place that Zoroastrians put the corpse under the exposure of the sun and the air that regards as the purifiers of Zoroastrianism religion. water, fire, soil and wind are the four holy elements in this religion.

we will drive to the Yazd fire temple which still using by Zoroastrians for praying and we can learn a lot about Zoroastrians.

then we will drive to the Dolat Abad garden to see how Iranian governors made a pleasant place for the burning summers of the desert. the Dolat Abad garden is UNESCO world heritage site and its windcatcher regards as the highest windcatcher in the word.

our next drive is to see the Yazd water museum that's one of the best one of its kind.in this museum, we will learn about the Qanat system which solves the biggest challenge of the people in the desert; water! nearby the water museum, we can see Amirchakhmagh complex historical square that is the symbol of Yazd city and located at the heart of the city.

finally, we can go to the oldest quarter of the city to see the Yazd Jome Mosque and a fascinating strict which entirely built of earthen material.
